Each one of our Matsidiso bags is handmade in Cape Town, South Africa, one at a time by a talented trust of women that are all given fair, livable wages- as we stand by our ethos to support organizations that are sustainable and ethical. We believe in the ethos of slow fashion, slow consumption and celebrating life with luxurious findings that are original instead of mass-produced.
Feast your eyes on our fave ethically wild, bespoke bags of the month.
First up on our list of authentically African bags is the newest edition to our itsy bitsy bag collection, The Nandi comes with an original and completely unique Springbok horn that can be easily switched out with a plain leather strap- making this bag a seamless option for any day or night event.
The itsy bitsy bags have been an on-going trend for the last year and a half, from the runways of New York to the streets of Cape Town. We’ve taken the idea of the classic micro baggie and added a very Matsidiso twist (of course!) making it our very own! Each horn was sourced locally in South Africa and is a by-product of culling. They only come in limited batches and each horn is completely unique.
Calling all style queens, bad-ass lady bosses and lovers of all things black. Here is a bag almost as dark, mysterious and sultry as you - The Le Petit Ostrich Feather Clutch In Black.
She’s soft, she’s sleek, she’s playful, she was handmade right here in Cape Town aaand she’s black. Do we need another reason?
We all have a little girl in us that demands pink things! I know I’m guilty of succumbing to pink treasures every once in a while and the Aminatu Ostrich Feather Clutch Sling In Python and Rose is no different. She demands to be seen and commands attention like no other.
She’s so fluffy!
Honestly, no amount of images or videos could ever capture her whimsical flow and her soft touch. The Aminatu Clutch has to be our pick of the month as she’s just so much to play with! Don’t take our word for it though, try her out yourself.
Until next time darlings!
